Harelson's experience needed in tough times
The facts:
• Josephine County Treasurer John Harelson is a CPA with 38 years of
accounting and financial management experience and has handled a budget
of $30 million to $60 million the last 12 years in his present position. During
that time, he's made investments that earned the county more than $16
million, with no losses.
• Opponent Dale Matthews has no accounting background. His only
experience in this area is handling maybe a few thousand dollars as
treasurer for three organizations.
• Josephine County desperately needs to make the most of the money it has
in coming years, as the federal spigot is turned off.
This choice is easy: Harelson.
