JOSEPHINE COUNTY-Treasurer since January 1997, Budget Officer 2004
and 2005, Acting CFO October 2003 – December 2004;
ROGUE COMMUNITY COLLEGE – Past Board Member and Chair,
presently a member of the Budget/Advisory Committee;
CITY OF GRANTS PASS INDUSTRIAL LOAN REVIEW COMMITTEE-
Current Committee Member;
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF JOSEHINE
COUNTY- Served as Board Member and Treasurer;
JOSEPHINE (sp) MEMORIAL HOSPITAL- Served as Board Member and
Vice President;
CITY OF FAIRBANKS ALASKA, MUNICIPAL UTILITIES SYSTEM- Served
as Controller
JOHN HARELSON has served as the elected Treasurer of Josephine County
since 1997, responsible for over $15,000,000 in investment earnings, with no
investment losses.
JOHN HARELSON is a Certified Public Accountant with over 38 years
financial management experience in private industry, public accounting,
governmental finance, taxes and management. John is a member of the
American and Oregon Societies of CPAs.
JOHN HARELSON knows governmental finance. John has served as
Josephine's acting Chief Financial Officer in 2003 and 2004. John also was
the Budget Officer of Josephine County for 2 years. As a CPA in public
practice, John performed municipal audits, including the City of Grants Pass,
Josephine County and other municipal corporations.
JOHN HARELSON is active in our community. John has served as a board
member for Rogue Community College, Josephine Memorial Hospital,
Grants Pass Rotary Club, Four Way Community Foundation, the Rogue
Valley Civic League and the Community Development Corporation of
Josephine County.
JOHN HARELSON has the integrity, experience and ability to continue the
safe and efficient management of the Treasurer's Office in the best interests
of the citizens of Josephine County. John will ensure continued efficient and
productive financial management as well as friendly and courteous service in
the Treasurer's Office.
